CROSSOVER CHANNEL 4

Date: 09 June 2008 to 20 November 2008
Venue: BUXTED PARK HOTEL, BUXTED, SKIPTON, EAST SUSSEX

Channel 4 commissioned Crossover to produce two labs specifically adapted to provide TV commissioning editors with the knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to develop and commission cross-platform projects. The events were designed to:

  • raise the awareness and understanding of C4's commissioning editors and executives of the creative and commercial potential of interactive, cross-platform media;
  • incubate original and innovative ideas for projects which fulfil Channel 4's creative, commercial and public service objectives across a range of genres including Comedy, Docs, Specialist Factual, Music, Games and Education;
  • build a network and production capability to supply the Channel with groundbreaking, challenging and effective new media products.

The labs were held over 4 days at Buxted Park Hotel in Sussex. They featured a specially commissioned participatory game which involved live action, online components and video footage which explored forms of interactive storytelling.
